Bio

I became interested in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Baltimore, Maryland, because four of my husband's family members (Keaser) are buried there. The conditions were (and still are) absolutely horrible when we first tried to find the graves in 2007. During our searches for the graves of our family members, I began transcribing some of the headstones, hoping that someday someone else would be luckier than we were. So much of black history is simply lost! We actually cleaned the graves of four unrelated individuals after our search for our family remained fruitless. I keep hoping that Mount Auburn will be restored. Hope springs eternal, right?

My husband's family hails from Warren County, North Carolina, and I'm trying to find as many family members as I can. Of particular interest is Burchette Chapel, Manson, Warren, North Carolina, as a host of his ancestors is buried there.
