Bio
My last name is Pickett.....the e was added by my dad when he was orphaned at the age of 10. His mothers family took him in. As a NC boy growing up and knowing that my Pickett line was from VA I grew very curious about the possiblility of being kin to Gen. George Pickett...also from VA. In 1980 I was assigned the task of researching my family history by my history professor at ECU Dr. Herb Pascal. I have been working on this history as well as many other family lines since that day. By the way.....my kinship to General George has never been proven. It is certainly 4 or more times removed if it even exists.
I have taken tombstone and footstone pictures of my family lines for years and only recently learned of this great web site and service. I hope to get pretty good at this and fill as many requests for pictures as I possibly can.
