Bio

I was born in Brownfield, Terry Co TX, in 1953. My parents were Robert Earl and Annie Mae (Shouse)Carouth. Siblings: Earl Elwayne Carouth, Shirley Ann Carouth Thomas, Gwendolyn Carouth Tyler, Beverly Matilda (Tillie) Carouth Lacy. I attended and graduated from Brownfield High School 1971. I entered the field of Law Enforcement with the Brownfield Police Dept in September of 1973. With height requirements, and age requirements changing, upon completing the academy , TCOLE honored me as the youngest police officer in the state of Texas at that time in 1974. I worked for Terry County Sheriff Office, Department of Public Safety Communications, Big Spring Police Department, Hobbs New Mexico Police Department as undercover Detective resulting in one of the largest and most successful operations to come out of southeastern New Mexico. Moving back to Texas I joined the Midland Police Department in 1980. In 1993 I was appointed by State Judge, George D. Jody Gilles, as his Court Security Coordinator. I continued my career in Law Enforcement until December 31, 2016 when I retired from the 142nd District Court and Midland Co TX Sheriff Office.I married Christy Rupard of Big Spring, TX in 1978 in Big Spring. We met at the Big Spring Police Dept where we both were working. In 2015 Christy was promoted with her Government job from Midland, TX to San Antonio TX. We lived in an apartment at the Historic Majestic Theatre on Historic Houston St just 4 blocks from the Alamo. After retiring I moved to San Antonio in December of 2016. I took part time employment as Aviation Security Officer with Immigration Customs Enforcement flying on ICE air, the old CON air, flying out of the country on deportation flights.I totally retired at the end of 2017, due to on duty injuries over the years resulting in several back surgeries. All this resulted in 44 years in Law Enforcement. Upon retiring and living in San Antonio I made evening walks in the downtown area. We lived a block and a half from the river walk and nightly strolls included the river walk and Alamo almost daily. In 1995 I founded and incorporated a Southern Gospel Music Ministry. I am the current president for the Spirit of Salvation (SOS) Ministries. We have ministered all over the world by either TV recordings, audio recordings, or in person.I have two children and 4 grand children. I am truly a Blessed Man. God has been way better to me than I deserve. Thank you Lord for walking this journey of life with me.
