Second son(of three) of John T. Sturdivant and Laura Gertrude Nash Sturdivant. Gertrude daughter of William Hartsell Nash. She was reared on Iron Mountain Road near Smryna Cemetary. Uncle Tom Nash, "Marrying Tom",founder of Smyrna Cemetary was her uncle. William Hartsell Nash, my grandfather, contributed the stamped square nails from his country furnishing store and lumber from his farm to build the Primative Baptist Church adjacent to Smyrna cemetery. I attended my grandmother's (Lula Bridges Nash)funeral (4-20-48)as well as those of most of her children. I worshiped there occasionally as a child. Tornado destroyed the church several years ago. Many occupants of Smryna cemetary are my relatives.
Recently, visited the web site and found some relatives not listed. Asked President of the Association, first cousin by marriage, George Breazeal, for updated information in order to attempt to update the records. Data recieved March 21,2011 from Laverne Breazeal(my first cousin). Hope to update cemetery website and "find a grave".
