Kathy Marie Lawrence Riordan was born and raised in the cattle and oil of southwestern Wyoming and transplanted to central Wisconsin and the Wisconsin northwoods, and eventually also the Gulf of Mexico in Florida, where she lived with her husband, Lawrence Thomas Riordan, formerly of Chicago.

She divides her time between the Gulf Coast of Florida and the Wisconsin northwoods.

She came by a love of genealogy and family history honestly as a child and has continued to appreciate the threads that hold the human fabric together.
