Born an Army brat in Germany and moving around a lot throughout my entire childhood has caused me to really dig my roots into one spot for as long as I can. Recently, my roots have been a huge interest of mine, mainly because my mother didn't know anything about hers. When my sister and I started poking around into her ancestors, we had no idea it would become a full-time research position.
Now, with the amazing help of cousins we never knew we had, we've come a long way and those roots have turned into branches that stretch far greater distances than we ever thought possible. I've learned two very important lessons along the way; a genealogist's job is never done and 'Zero Search Results' doesn't mean that information isn't out there somewhere. Don't give up and don't give into the frustrating obstacles along the way, because finding those rare gems makes it all worthwhile!
