Born and raised in upstate New York (Norwich, Chenango, NY). Graduated Norwich High School in 1964, and, after a year and a half in college, joined the Navy. Spent 23 years in the Navy as a cryptanalyst, a cryptolinguist and a senior intelligence analyst and reporter. After retirement from the Navy, I went back to school, earning a B. S. degree in Russian and East Asian Area Studies with a minor in Government. I then went to work for the State of Maryland as a Disabled Veterans Outreach Program Specialist, working with disabled vets to try to find them employment. After two years I was offered a position with the VA and worked at the VARO Baltimore for about five years until my disabilities would not allow me to work any more. I then sold my house in MD and moved to Florida, where I've been since 2004. I keep active with volunteering and maintaining the Charlotte Harbor Parrot Head Club's web site and doing a weekly newsletter.
