Bio

My name is Michael Tighe, I was born in Tacoma, Washington, but moved back to Sioux City, IA (where I was raised) when I was really young. Sioux City is located where Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota meet at a point called the Missouri River. Iowa has very bad winters, in which snapping photos in the dead of winter has it's limits in terms of Mother Nature coating the headstones with snow and Ice, and you need to literally use an ice scraper to read headstones. Due to lack of employment opportunities in Sioux City, IA, I have recently relocated to Jackson, Michigan.
I am trying to complete my Beach, Buckland, Castle, Maynard, Olson, Rose, Swan and Tighe Family Trees which encompasses the United States, Ireland, England and Norway. I got bit by the geneology bug a few years back, but didn't start contributing anything additional to my family trees until about six months ago. At the present time, (4) of my family trees go completely back to the country of origination, some of which others traced the steps of my ancestors, and some of which I traced the steps of my ancestors. It just gives such a rush when you uncover a lost family member whether it be my direct family or someone requesting a photo from a headstone on the Find A Grave website, so people in the future can learn all about their heritage that would otherwise be lost.
