I remember when I was little, going to cemeteries and cleaning and touching the headstones and feeling a connection even to those who had long passed. When my great-grandmother passed away, she gave me pictures of her mother, and it stunned me that a photograph conveys the expression of someone I will never meet, yet somehow know...because they are a part of me. I look to them for strength, and I feel it is my charge to honor their memory and help anyone the best I can. I have met so many people from all walks of life that share common blood with me and I feel blessed to know them.‎
