Bio

I've been doing genealogy for well over 45 years. Since my retirement, I've finally had the time to start participating more in Findagrave. I live in the Sacramento area, California. One person in my messages below scolded me for not entering more memorials. Well, for one, I don't want to be a memorial hog (ahem) running amok just typing names and dates, and secondly, here in the Sacramento area, many of the cemeteries are very well photographed and enumerated, so while I am still a volunteer photographer (although the requests are few and far between) I have set my sights on expanding various FAG memorials - check out Walter J. Burwell in my memorials. Mr. Burwell came to El Dorado County in 1849 in the height of Gold Fever. He was Sheriff of El Dorado County and died in 1864 in Placerville, El Dorado County, CA. He is buried in the Old Placerville Cemetery where sadly, many of the gravestones are disappearing with age and wear. His memorial was set up by LIN, who generously transferred it to me when I managed to piece together a bio on Mr. Burwell. I couldn't see him just lying there without some recognition beyond a name and a date. I love doing this. So, when possible, I like to add bios and add information on my ancestors graves and other graves that tickle my fancy. And, no I don't have to manage them.

PLEASE use any photos I have posted on FAG. You do not have to ask.

Ciao
