I've been working on my family genealogy for about ten years now and I've found it quite fascinating and rewarding!

Surnames of interest to me are: Jacob/Jacobs, Thuerauf, Emmanuel, Oestericker and Jerns. All were early settlers of Iowa.

Also the surname of Kodras; my grandparents came to the States from what is now called the Czech Republic. I have not been able to find much of any information on my grandmother, whose surname was Pfanova. She was born in Austria in 1894. After her father died her mother remarried and then she was raised by her grandmother. I have no clue to any of her relatives or ancestry so any clues would be greatly appreciated!
