Addergoole is a small parish in North Mayo, Ireland. Fourteen people left our parish and set sail on RMS Titanic. Eleven perished in that disaster. This was the largest proportionate loss in Europe in that epic tragedy. Two crew from Castlebar also perished.
There is an annual bell ringing ceremony at 2.20am on 15th April to commemorate the parish loss and the long lives of the three women who survived.
