Bio

I have been hunting for relatives graves for several years. Since many relatives died before I was born, I felt it important to find where they were interred. It has been an exhilarating and sad experience. As more and more of my relatives are dying, I feel it is imperative that future generations know where their relatives are buried and to record their place in history.I have always been a photography buff since I was young. I like writing too. At one time I put together a newsletter for my mother's side of the family. It was quite enjoyable until my mom's youngest sister died. I considered her my mentor. Now my mother has died, and I am bereft at her loss. Since my dad departed for the heavenlies in 1997, both of my parents live there now. The loneliness of being "orphaned" is overwhelming. I have a younger sister and brother, but we are not as close as I would like. In the boy too distant future, I too will be at the forefront of the next generation to begin dying off. I am doing house sitting and petcare for six years having had my full of secretarial jobs. My husband is retired, and he helps me.Business is different every year. I haven't taken much work either due to grieving over my mothers death Jan. 20, 2010. We have two grown sons; neither one married so there are no grandchildren.Oldest son, Mike Backstrom, lives in St. Paul, MN and works for Larsen and Larsen, an accounting firm. He is an IT specialist for them. He was chosen for a better position this year (2011). Our youngest son, Chris, works for a restaurant in West Des Moines, Cheesecake Factory. We are proud of both of them. Chris wanting to be a firefighter, but his knees are problematic having had three surgeries on them. He is still on his feet quite long due to being a server there at Cheesecake. I love to scrapbook, research genealogy, and write. Have two cats that are really finicky! We have two more additional cats we took in because a friend moved into an appt. and couldn't take them with her. It is fairly stressful to have cats that don't really like each other.
