I am an author. My novel, WHISPERS FROM ST. MARY'S WELL, set in St. Mary's County, Maryland, is now available on amazon.com. Like all novels, it is strictly fiction; however, the inspiration for it came to me while I was researching my genealogy. I found my great-grandmother's grave and saw that she was born in 1851. From the surrounding graves, I saw that her family had suffered many painful losses in the first years of her life. I wondered what it would have been like to be that child or her young mother. I dreamt about them and wrote the fictional story of their lives based on my dreams. My father's family came to St. Mary's County, Maryland in the 1600s, and I had access to great research resources for the historical context of the novel.
