Bio

My great-great-grandmother emigrated from the Netherlands in 1869 when she was eighteen. My grandfather left Pella, Iowa when he was fifteen, enlisted in the Navy in Chicago when he was furloughed from a coal boat, and met my grandmother in Washington, D. C. on Inauguration Day, and they got married the following Monday. On FDR's FIRST WEEK in office, he shut down the banks, and docked the wages of men serving in the armed forces.
