Bio

I am a Virginian by birth, raised in North Carolina, educated in Tennessee, and now living in southern West Virginia. I have been interested in Civil War history all my life, especially the Southern cause. For the past year I have been busy attempting to research my family. An exciting part of that research was to discover the burial place of my great, great grandfather, George W. Kinzer (also spelled Kinser in some records) in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Plattsmouth, NE. After serving the entire Civil War in Co F of the 51st Virginia Infantry, he moved his family to Plattsmouth, NE and established himself in his trade of gunsmith/machinist.
I am a social worker. Married for 41 years, the father of 4 children and the grandfather of 10. I am also the chaplain of the Flat Top Copperheads, Sons of Confederate Veterans, Camp 1694, Princeton, WV; Chaplain of the WV Division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. I am a member of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution.
