Now that my wife and I are both retired, I finally have time to devote to our family's genealogy. Find-A-Grave is a tremendous assist in that pursuit. And, Find A Grave is also a devotion in itself. I'm happy to volunteer to take photos in my area.

Alas, I lost Carolyn, my beloved wife of 44-1/2 years, on December 17, 2009 but I continue the pursuit of our genealogy.

I'm personally tracing my Williamson line - from my 2nd Great Grandfather Basil Williamson, b 1788 in the Pendleton District, Spartenburg, SC, as well as my wife's line from her 3rd Great Grandfather, Abraham Houser, b. 1740 in Wondenburg, Germany and moved to this new land before the Revolutionary war.

One of my last conversations with Carolyn was that life moves on - She was insistent that I would remarry soon. I guess she knew me better than I knew myself, because I have remarried (4/30/2011) and my new wife Penny - who had lost her husband about 1-1/2 years earlier - has tons of information on her family tree, so that is being added to my overall search. I guess I am now also "Norwegian by Marriage" as her family came from Norway and her mom was full Norwegian.
