Bio

I began an ancestor quest in 2008 for my father. All of his family records were lost in the early 1980s. He did not know anyone beyond his father. I have been able to trace his McKenzie roots back to 1780 (Robeson, NC). I found that his ancestors were Scottish, not Irish as he thought. Through DNA testing at FTDNA.com, he is part of the largest group of McKenzie (MacKenzie) men, called the MacKenzie Core, who can trace roots back to Alexander Ionriac, Chief of the MacKenzies who died in 1491. Now my quest is finding our branch of this tree.
