My mom got me started on genealogy a few years back and now I'm hooked. On my dad's side the main surnames I'm researching are Shumate, Adkins, Elmore & Soots in North Carolina. On my mom's side are Peck, Valentine, Handville and Dickinson/Dickerson in NJ and Long Island and Maguire from Ireland.
