Bio

My name is Mary im 30 y/o. I really don't know how I came across this site, but im glad I did. I lost my baby girl when she was 1 week old. Her name is Emma Elizabeth Keith; she was born on January 27, 2007 and passed away on February 3, 2007. I developed a condition called Cholestasis of pregnancy. Basically my liver was falling; I was totally jaundice (YELLOW!!!) and dying. I was transferred to UK (university of Kentucky) ob unit for high risk pregnancy, I was there for 5 days before I went in to early labor, I delivered my baby girl around 6:30 that morning and thought that everything was fine, nobody explained to me that since my body was full of bile from my liver, that the sac holding my baby would be filled with it as well. When I was able to go down to the NICU to see her I almost passed out, she was so tiny to me (3Lbs and 11oz) but she was the biggest baby in her nursery. I wanted to help her so bad, the doctors and nurses who took care of her said that it was a slim chance she would pull through, but they would do all they can for her. One of the doctors explained to me that her lungs were so badly damaged because of all the bile in the amniotic fluid that it would be impossible to reverse; she said it was like an adult who had a severe chemical burn to their lungs. She was a lil fighter though.... she coded twice, I was there for one of the codes, her heart has stopped beating and they did CPR on her gave her meds to bring her back, she pulled through (such a strong baby). End the end though and after trying every possible medication available her little lungs could not be fixed, and she was starting to have seizures, her brain was starting to bleed, and other things were happening to her body because of her being on full life support. I know that she was tired, and I did not
