In 1997 learned my father's birth name originated in Poland. Knew his parents names, so started searching with them. Startled to learn Grand dad had 15 siblings all who lived within a 2 mile radius of where I grew up. His mother's history was also in the same locations. Sadly my father was not one to associate with but 2 or 3 relatives.
After marrying in 1965, I also eventually learned that my new husband was related to my mother's side of our now extensive family (over 9000). It has generated more relatives than I can keep track of. Luckily a few are still living with bright memories well into their 90's & 100's. Where there is a lack of history is with photographs, dad destroyed them when my parents divorced. But blessed are the few survivors who have contributed what little there is. Thank you to those who have.
