I have been researching my family since 1987. My family lived in Putnam, Jasper, Jones, and many other counties in Georgia. Most of them along with other families migrated north during the early to mid 1920's. My mother's line was primarily from Jasper County and my father's line from Putnam County. Many settled in North Carolina in Lincoln, Cleveland, Gaston, and Catawba Counties. Some migrated to Arkansas. I am researching the following families: Clemons/Clements, Culp/Odom, Vincent/Vinson, Gardner, Lawrence, Key, Whiting/Whiten/Whitening, McKissick, Smith.
