Bio

I'm a descendent of Richard Vauter "RV" and Sabra (Watts) Blair, John and Delia (Chichester) Welch, Jacob and Bertha (Braun) Schmidt, and Martin Tilman and Artie Lee (Edington) Hughes.

I began dabbling in family research in 1991, but became seriously involved with it in 2007. That's when I made a connection with the Old Colorado City Historical Society, Colorado Springs, Colorado. They gave me a tremendous amount of support and information about the Schmidt family. My research also got a boost from a tape recording of my grandmother, Beulah Blair Schmidt [daughter of Richard Henry and Mamie (Welch) Blair, and wife of Henry Schmidt] made in 1980 by my uncle Robert Schmidt.

Many of the Blair family members left Kansas to move west, first to Colorado, and then to Los Angeles, California, where I was born.

The Hughes side of the family had lots of broken links, but recently those gaps have begun to close. It's been an adventure!

Since my husband and I retired from Federal government service, we've been living near Coeur d' Alene, Idaho.
