Bio

Kyle W. Bagnall began his lifelong love of history as a child, listening to family stories and reading his great-grandfather's memoirs. From 1990-1994 he worked as a seasonal historical interpreter for Mackinac State Historic Parks (MSHP) at Fort Mackinac, Michigan. In 1993, Kyle graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Public History from Western Michigan University. From 1995-2017 he worked as Manager of Historical Programs for Chippewa Nature Center in Midland, Michigan. From 2017-2011, he served as Program Manager at Whiting Forest of Dow Gardens in Midland. Since 2021, Kyle has worked as Park Naturalist for MSHP, returning to his roots at the Straits.

Kyle has served as a board member for the Association of Living History, Farm and Agricultural Museum (ALHFAM), and Midwest Open Air Museums Coordinating Council (MOMCC). He also served as Michigan Coordinator for Project Passenger Pigeon, which took place in 2014.
