My name is Cheryl Stewart, I am a 62 year old mother of two wonderful adults: Eleishia Jean and Christopher David. I also have 4 beautiful grandchildren (my son has 2 girls and 1 boy and my daughter has 1 son). I am from Cumberland RI but now live in Woonsocket RI.

I seem to have this fascination with historical cemetery's. Always loved to walk thru them and look at dates and ages of the people buried there. Back in 1999, I started to work on my own family tree and after 2 years was able to put a book together along with a CD for my siblings for Christmas presents. At that point I had hit a road block on two branches of my tree so I had to put it down for a while. Over the next few years I have tried breaking the block but had no luck but this year was able to brake one of the blocks and while doing so found this site and figured I could help others with their quests.

I have now managed to go back 15 generations on one branch of my tree and 13 on another. Still road blocked in Nova Scotia though and its driving me nuts. Guess its passport time. Next vacation is to Canada but probably wont be until next year.

09/07/2023: I have been awal for some time now due to health and family situation but I am back and ready to start taking photos again. I went to Highland Memorial Park Cemetery a week ago and had a chat with my mom and realized how much I missed visiting the cemeteries and taking photos. The weather is to hot today but I have claimed a few and will get to them either after work tomorrow or this weekend.

5 May 2013: Well the weather has finally reached the point of WARM. Seeing a lot of requests coming in. I will be fulfilling a lot of those requests over the next couple weeks. Keep them coming and I will do my best to get those photos for you.

18 Apr 2013: headed out today and took about 20 photos. Felt good to get back out there. Send me your requests. I'm living In Hope Valley RI now so visiting all new cemetery's. Finding a lot of them are on private property but I will ask permission from the owners.. besides I love a challenge.

24 Apr 2010: Well im back on track with my spring project, my family tree and also hitting the cememteries again. gonna start taking pics again so send me your requests. I had to take the winter off due to working 3 jobs and the weather didnt help either.

UPDATE 8/30/09: Well I took 1 1/2 mths off from this due to moving and ending up with pneumonia but I'm back on track now and back to taking photos. I have a list at the Highway department in Pawtucket for all listings at Oak Grove, they are going to give me all of the locations so I can easily find them since its a very large cemetery. Any that are prior to 1936, I'm on my own due to the records being lost in a fire. Also putting in a list for Mineral Spring Cemetery but most of the requests are for the stones with lost records as well. I will do my best to find these and keep everyone updated. Well I'm off to a couple more sites today to take some more photos before the next rainstorm hits.
