Although I live in coastal Mississippi, I was born and reared in Escambia County,Alabama. Most of my Odom, Godwin, Simmons, Stanton, Newberry family come from the Escambia County area.
My Hart, Harrelson, Lovelace/Loveless, Dixon, Tipton, Moore families mostly came from the neighboring county, Covington or the panhandle counties of Walton, Okaloosa, Bay Counties, Florida.
I don't know how much time I will be able to contribute to this cause, but I'm thoroughly convinced that we must save our history and our heritage for our children, grands, and greatgrands.
