I've always been interested in my family history and genealogy. My mother and her family (from Arkansas, Missouri & Mississippi) had some information already. My dad and his family (from Arizona, Mexico, Japan) had very little information. In 1998 I spent about 6 months doing some online genealogy research, then had to stop. After the death of my fathers' friend Rueben Perez in Nov. 2008 and visits with family and friends in Mesa/Phoenix area I was inspired by young 2nd cousin, Kat Okamura, to start researching my dad's side of the family.

Another cousin (Victoria Alatorre) subsequently turned me on to the 'Find a Grave' site, so I've joined and hope to encourage other family members to add family memorials to this site as they can.
