Bio

Since my retirement I have been able to pursue a couple of interest that I thoroughly enjoy. Genealogy of which I have been involved with for over thirty five years and the other is locating old family cemeteries. Many of which have been abandoned and lost to the descendants of those that are burred there. I make a determined effort to find out who is burred in these graves. I canvas, take photos, record GPS locations then place them on the internet to sites such as cemetery census.com and Find a grave.com
I enjoy strolling through cemeteries looking at the inscriptions. The different shapes, sizes of the stones and the symbols used on them. And sometimes I wonder why they chose that particular one
While in a cemetery I sense an inner peace a calmness that is only with me in such a place. Also a stark realization that one day soon I to will be lying in a graveyard somewhere.
