Hello cousins and friends!

My name is Kathleen; FLOYD is my maiden name. I am originally from Morris County, TX and much of my research is in the Morris-Cass-Bowie County area of North-East TX (Paternal side); My maternal line comes from SW Arkansas and TN. I have also lived in Hunt County, TX. and have been in Johnson County, TX. since 1982. I love genealogy and have been doing it whenever possible since about 1975.

My parents were Walter Robert FLOYD (b. 01-11-1911; d. 01-05-2006) and Helen Marie JACKSON (b. 10-28-1919; d. 06-09-1970).

My best friend and genealogy buddy, LaCata, told me about this site and I have been using it for a while now and just love it and have finally joined to share in the fun. [Update: I have recently found out that LaCata & I are cousins through our shared EDWARDS line! HA!]

My biggest problem, according to LaCata, is that in addition to researching my direct lines, I go off in all directions and end up knowing all the neighbors of all the relatives. It is a habit I got from my father who gave me lots of information, but would say something like, "Yeah, cousin Joe lived over off Hwy 59, next to the Smiths. Can you find out about the Smith's, too?"

Going back 6 direct-line generations on my Paternal line I know of the following families: CRABTREE, CURREY / CURRY, EDWARDS, FLOYD, HALL, HOLLINGSWORTH, IVEY / IVY, JACKSON, MAYFIELD, MAYO, MOORE, RICHARDSON, RILEY, ROBISON, TURNER, WEST.

Going back 6 direct-line generations on my Maternal line I know of the following families: CARLTON, CHEEK, COVINGTON, GREEN, JACKSON, KIMBROUGH, McDUFFY, PARKS, POPE, PRINCE, PUTMAN, THOMAS, WADE, WHITLEY.

I will be glad to share information with other people; remember, I know the neighbors, too!
