Nearly all of my ancestors came from the mountains of North Carolina, eastern Tennessee and northwest Georgia. My husband's mother's family came from this area also. Cemetery visits and cataloging are for me a way to honor and connect with those that came before us. Genealogy keeps them alive through their generations to the present.
