Bio

My Mother's side of the family includes surnames of Zahn, Zarn, Dore, Barli, and Admire, White and Bouchard. Theophile Dore was my grandmother Clothilde Dore Zahn's father. Emma Dore Barli was a great aunt. So was Philomene Dore Zarn.

Note: The Social Security Death Record for Theresa M. Zahn is wrong. Theresa last lived, died, and is buried in Cleveland, Georgia (White County). She had lived in Pittsfield, Mass; Port Charlotte, Florida; and Cleveland, Georgia. San Francisco was where her court-appointed guardian lived. Theresa never visited or lived in San Francisco, CA.

Omissions and errors and supposition abound, particularly where females are concerned because with rare exceptions females didn't own or inherit land or property, or earn degrees or hold public office. They took their husband's last name, so their identify vanished with marriage and time.

And Social security numbers didn't come into existence until around the mid-1900's. It wasn't until then women were even recognized as 'working.'

In addition, where old records have faded, or handwriting is difficult to decipher, much 'guessing' has taken place - so names are often incorrectly transcribed.

And, some people changed the spelling of names to more 'Americanize' them, to draw less attention and speculation to themselves, or make themselves less easy to track - because all of us, except Native Americans, are immigrants who came to America from other countries, many during very turbulent times in out country of origin.

Additional content removed by Find a grave personnel on 3/22/19 after documented totals were questioned. Originally I was Search 4 Ossip, then I changed to Family_Matters. I had 22 sponsorships before 3/22/19, they changed that total to 17 after I questioned sites being fraudulently taken over and in some cases removed by others, including people who were newer than I was.

Among the memorials that totally disappeared are Memorial# 36951803, and 36951863.
