I was born in Martinsville, VA, and lived in Axton, Virginia until I was about 6 years old and then my family moved to Maryland. I still have relatives living in the Martinsville area and enjoy visiting the beautiful countryside.

I retired from the Federal Government in Dec. of 2007 from(GSA) with 37 years of government service. After retirement I started working on my family genealogy. I was thrilled to find grave locations for some of my ancestors through the "Find A Grave" site. On a recent visit to Virginia I visited some of the local cemeteries and photographed headstones of family members. I did this not only to help me with names and dates for my tree, but have posted them on this site to help others that might also be wondering where their ancestors are laid to rest. Some of my ancestors are: Hankins/Marlow/Burnett/Dallas/Wilson
