I began researching my family history in 1998. I had made attempts in previous years by talking to family members, but not knowing the right questions to ask made it a pitiful attempt. I truly dove into my genealogy search shortly after information was available on the Internet was available. I spent hours reviewing microfiche at the Library of Virginia and quickly learned how much information cemeteries held. I had begun going to every cemetery in and around Dinwiddie County, Virginia, taking photos and learning how much history and information is available. My family has been in this area for over 200 years and I currently have over 600 photos of markers from local cemeteries. I am researching several branches of if my family including Allgood, Bridgman, Bridgeman, Brough, Cairns, Hawkins, Henly, Henry, Rudy, Westmoreland and Wicks to name a few.
