Friends of Southampton Old Cemetery is an unpaid group of cemetery conservation volunteers. We take guided walks, assist families to locate graves and clear bramble, litter and saplings.

There are 44 headstones associated with the Titanic although the deceased were either buried at sea or in Halifax, Nova Scotia or were not recovered.

There are about 160 graves reflecting shipwrecks and maritime connections including the Rhone, the Wye and the Douro.

Edward Askew Sothern famous for his role as Lord Dundreary in the play "Our American Cousin" is buried here.

General Rosas the deposed Argentean leader was buried here and in 1989 at the request of the Argentean government the body was exhumed and returned.

There are graves with Royal Flying Corps insignia and 87 graves associated with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
