this gravesite on the net. I traveled to see for myself and took pictures for posterity. Capt.
Samuel Jones Ridley apparently was a son of a
Jimmy Ridley that served with Andrew Jackson who
remarked that "if I had 100 officers like Jimmy Ridley, the war would have been over in a week".
Jimmy Ridley's parents were Capt. George Ridley
(designated Defender of the Frontier by Congress)
and his first wife, Elizabeth Maria Weatherford.
I am a descendant of the marriage to his second
wife - Sarah Vincent, whom he married in 1777.
