Bio

I live in Heartland, TX, which is about 10 miles east of Dallas, TX south of I-20. I was raised in Bayard, NE until high school graduation. I then attended Kearney State College in Kearney, NE. In Feb. 1973
I married Carol Gentert, she followed me to Pensacola, FL where I joined the US Navy in July 1973 with the Aviation Officer Candidate (AOC) option. I was honored with my pilot wings in March of 1975, in Corpus Christi, TX. My daughter Nina was born there as well. We departed Corpus Christi in July 1975 for Hawaii.
My family resided in Hawaii for 9 years. As I was in the Navy, I was frequently deployed spending perhaps 1/2 of that 9 years physically in Hawaii.
During those 9 years I had the opportunity to visit many countries and remote locations. Perhaps the most interesting was my tour as the executive officer (XO) at ASU Bahrain. From there I frequently flew to Saudia Arabia, Pakistan, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Djibouti.
Following my tour in Bahrain, I returned to my family in Hawaii, we then moved to Pensacola, FL.
In 1988 I resigned my commission in the Navy and was hired by Pan Am Airlines, serving as a flight engineer on the Boeing 727. Unfortunately, Pan Am went out of business in 1991, and I was out of a job.
I moved to the Dallas Ft.Worth metroplex where I remain to this day.
My interest in genealogy was created by my grandmother Goldie Eliza (Fowler) Blair. Unfortunately, she died before I was able to gather any information from her. However, she did leave a plethora of information and pictures of family members as well as letters from her mother Mary Beatrice (Williams) Fowler.
