Bio

I have been researching my family lines for many years and have to admit I have become a little obsessed with Find a Grave! Would like everyone to be remembered, so its always great to find family members who have long been forgotten and link them with other family members.

Appreciate the Find A Grave volunteers who have taken their time to photograph and enter memorials.

Also appreciate hearing from anyone researching the same family lines. Most of my information is basic, so if you have life details, corrections, additions, or obituaries I would love to hear from you to make these records more thorough.

Should any memorials under my care be for a member of your family, please let me know and I will gladly transfer. I'm not one to hold on to memorials if they have closer loved ones. Please use the "Edit" tab on the affected memorial, and then the "suggest a correction" link to send me your request or update.

Pearl Hanse was my first help in discovering Hanse family information. A letter to her in 2000 provided me with much needed help to get started on my genealogy obsession! My side of the Hanse family did not hand down or share stories of the old families. I had to turn over several stones and put many puzzle pieces together before I even found out names to start researching. Pearl helped me with that start and even provided an Andrias L. Hanse family photograph that she was holding on to just waiting for someone from this side of the family to contact her and want information. I was able to meet Pearl at her farm (the original Hanse family homestead) in Morris, MN in 2001, it was a great joy to have her show me photos, original Hanse family keepsakes, the old home, the farm, Scandia church and graveyard. She was still very agile and remembered great family details, I wish I could have spent more time with her and listened to more of her stories.

Good luck in your own research! I would really like to get info on the Westby side of the family if anyone has the unpublished genealogies by Fred Hanse called "The Descendants of Neils Neilson Westby" and "The Descendants of Erland Halvorson" I would greatly love to hear from you.

Researching: Hanse, Westby, Gimberlin, Weseman, Glover, Mitchell, Freeman, Ziemer, Bahwell and everyone in between.
