Bio

Hi. My name is BobbieJo Bridges. I have always loved genealogy and since recently coming into possesion of a car, can really enjoy my hobby. I love to go "cemetery hopping", even though to my only friend it sounds morbid. When I make my list of cemeteries to go to in the morning, I like to target older and family cemeteries. Only once have I come across a haunted tombstone, so I guess I've been pretty lucky.
Friday, December 13, 1985--2 weeks after due date
Mom, after being convinced by dad, finally decided to go to the hospital. She then went into an 18 hour ordeal called labor. Finally, after all the pain, out comes me. That is the same baby grandpa will always cherish. Why? Is it just because she's a new life poor and defenseless, but not alone, that has just come into this world? Well, it might be partly because of that, but it is because he has just come from the floor above. What I didn't tell you is that within minutes of me being born, he just let someone go. That's right, my great-grandmother. Or to him, his grandmother. I don't think my parents even knew that great-grandmother was in the hospital, let alone dying. How could they?
I think that is a HUGE part of why I am into this genealogy.
Think about it. How many people, relative or not, have you wanted to talk to. What was life like back then? What did they do in their slim amount of leisure time, if they had any at all? What were their personalities like?
Maybe, just maybe, we will be able to ask them someday. I'm sure they'll have a ton of questions for us.
For now, I guess this will end our little conversation. Take the time out each day and think about what your ancestors would be doing at this or any other moment.
Signing off for now...
bye:>
