I am a registered nurse living in a very rural area in Iowa. Through researching my own family history I have become interested in recording and restoring the small cemeteries that have been long forgotten by many. Many people researching their ancestry do not realize that many people from Canada, Ny, Scotland, and Germany were the first to settle in Iowa's farming areas. Their research may lead them to Iowa; however, if these small cemeteries are not recorded, I fear much of our history will be lost as the tombstones deteriorate. I love researching family histories and would like to aid those searching here in Iowa.
