Henderson, Herbert Stephen b. March 30, 1870 d. August 10, 1942 Matabeleland Rebellion British Victoria Cross Medal Recipient. He served as Trooper in the Rhodesia Horse, South African Forces. At Campbell's Store, Rhodesia, on March 30, 1896, he was part of the Bulawayo Field Force that was attacked by the natives. Trooper Henderson with another trooper formed part of the advanced guard but were cut off from the main body with his fellow trooper being shot through the knee.
