Grieve, John b. May 3, 1821 d. December 1, 1872 Crimea War British Victoria Cross Medal Recipient. He served as a Sergeant Major in the 2nd Dragoons, Royal Scot Greys. On October 25, 1854, in a Heavy Cavalry charge at Balaclava, Crimea, his lead officer was surrounded by Russian cavalry and in great danger.
