Forrest, George b. 1800 d. November 3, 1859 Indian Mutiny Victoria Cross Recipient. Born in Dublin, Ireland, he served as a Lieutenant in the Bengal Establishment, British Army. On May 11, 1857 at Delhi, India, Lieutenant Forrest was one of nine men who defended the ammunition storehouse for more than five hours against large numbers of mutineers.
