Erlander, Tage b. June 13, 1901 d. June 21, 1985 Swedish Prime Minister. Served as Prime Minister of Sweden from 1946 until 1969, the longest period of time for a leader in a western democracy. He was also the leader of the Swedish Social Democratic Party, and was concidered a fatherly figure to the nation. Tage Erlander always appeared with modesty and a great sence of humour. Lagerlöf, Selma Ottilia Lovisa b. November 20, 1858 d. March 16, 1940 Author. She made her debut in 1891 with The Gösta Berling saga, a story about her own region, Värmland and her home Mårbacka. Schenkmanis, Ulf b. July 6, 1934 d. September 8, 2004 Swedish radio-TV journalist, Author. Commenced his career as a teacher. In the early 1960s he started at the Swedish Radio as a free-lancer and made popular shows for young people. Zetterlund, Monica b. September 20, 1937 d. May 12, 2005 Jazz singer, actress, comedienne. One of Sweden's most acclaimed jazz singers with international recognition.
