Celje, Frederick of b. 1379 d. June 9, 1454 Slovene Folk Figure. He was the son of Herman the Second and his wife Anna. His first wife was Countess Elizabeth of Frankapan. When he met Veronica Desnic he divorced his wife despite his family's disapproval. The couple fled, but were caught by his father. Herman II had Veronica tried as a witch and executed by drowning. After that Frederick was so mad he had Countess Elizabeth murdered which of course led to more conflict. Frankapan, Elizabeth Of b. 1373 d. 1425 Countess Frankapan. Daughter of Count Stefan and his wife Caterina Carrara of Padua. She was married to Frederick the Second of Celje and was the mother of Counts Ulric and Johann. It is believed she was murdered by her own husband as he loved another woman,Veronica Desnic.
