Roa Bastos, Augusto b. July 13, 1917 d. April 26, 2005 Paraguayan Writer. He was forced into exile during Stroessner's Dictatorship, moving to Argentina and later to France and Spain, where he obtained nationality. He is best remembered for his books "Yo, el Supremo," "Hijo del Hombre," "El Naranjal Ardiente," "El Baldío" and "Madera Quemada." He received the Premio Cervantes award in 1989. He returned to Paraguay in 1996.
