Murrah, Pendleton b. 1824 d. August 4, 1865 Governor of Texas. He served as Governor from 1863 to 1865. As a staunch supporter of the Confederacy, he urged confederate troops to continue the fight even after General Lee surrendered. When it became obvious that Union forces would occupy Texas, he left office and fled to Mexico, where he died.
