Fynn, James Henry b. November 24, 1893 d. March 30, 1917 World War I Victoria Cross Recipient. His citation reads "On 9 April 1916 at Sanna-i-Yat, Mesopotamia, Private Fynn was one of a small party which dug in, in front of our advanced line and about 300 yards from the enemy's trenches. He went out and bandaged a number of wounded men under heavy fire, making several journeys in order to do so. Being unable to get a stretcher, he carried on his back a badly wounded man to safety". Henderson, George Stuart b. December 5, 1893 d. July 24, 1920 Iraqi Revolt Victoria Cross Recipient. Born in East Gordon, Scottish Borders, he served as a Captain in the 2nd Battalion, Manchester Regiment, British Army. Near Hillah, Mesopotamia Iraq, July 24, 1920, when the company under Captain Henderson's comand was ordered to retire, they came under attack a large party of Arabs. Captain Henderson at once reorganized the company, led them to the attack and drove off the enemy. Wheeler, Maj. George Godfrey Massy b. January 31, 1873 d. April 13, 1915 World War I Victoria Cross Recipient. Born in Chakarata, British India, he served as a Major in the 7th Hariana Lancers, Indian Army. On April 15, 1915, at Shariba, Mesopotamia, Major Wheeler led his squadron to attempt to capture a flag which was the centre point of a group of the enemy who were firing on one of their pickets.
