Silva, Medardo Ángel b. June 8, 1898 d. June 10, 1919 Poet. He is considered the leading representative of the Modernism Movement in Ecuador. He was nicknamed "El Niño Poeta" (The Child Poet). At young age, he was thrown from the school because he took the long hair and he never returned. Among his works "El Árbol del Bien y del Mal," "Aniversario," "María Jesús" and "Trompetas de Oro."
