Daykins, John Brunton b. March 26, 1883 d. January 24, 1933 British Victoria Cross War Medal Recipient. Daykins served as a Sergeant in 2/4th The Yurk & Lancaster Regiment. He was awarded his medal for service at France on October 20, 1918. He was born at Ormiston Farm, Hawick. his parents were John Daykins, farmer and Bessie Brunton.
