Sukanaivalu, Sefanaia b. 1918 d. June 23, 1944 World War II Victoria Cross recipient, the only native of Fiji to have received the award. Born in the island of Yacata in Northern Fiji, he was serving as a corporal in the 3 Battalion, Fiji Infantry Regiment, when he performed the deeds for which he was awarded the VC.
